Job Overview: The Therapeutic Radiation Practitioner is essential for delivering ionizing radiation to patients under the guidance of a Radiation Oncologist. This role involves patient simulation, delivering care and education, and ensuring the highest quality of treatment. Your Responsibilities: Review patient prescriptions and verify identification to explain treatment procedures and expected reactions. Prepare treatment rooms and equipment as per the prescribed plan, including managing immobilization devices. Document treatment details meticulously, including doses, parameters, and patient responses. Carry out treatment simulations and necessary procedures, including the creation of cerrobend blocks. Maintain unit cleanliness and ensure adequate stock levels of supplies. Participate in quality initiatives and address areas for improvement in patient care and safety. Requirements: Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program. ARRT and RT(T) certifications in radiation therapy. Current license in the state of practice, if applicable. Current BLS certification. Physical Demands: This role requires visual acuity for patient care, manual dexterity for operating equipment, and the ability to lift and transport patients and supplies.
