Summary: The Technical Business Development Manager supports the development and promotion of the company to attract new business and partnerships in both government and commercial industries.
Responsibilities: Develop annual sales plans for input into the company's annual strategic business plan. Prepare penetration plans for assigned territory and/or assigned markets. Identify, document and manage all new leads from inception to order. Review and analyze sales performances against forecast goals to ensure company key results are being met on a quarterly basis. Visit existing and prospective customer accounts, promoting the company through technical seminars and periodic meetings. Prepare technical and commercial proposals addressing customers’ specifications and SOW. Address customers’ needs by proposing relevant solutions leading. Work with Engineering and Program Managers to develop program awareness and identify strategic paths to further promote products. Report daily to the management team ongoing actions and status of active leads. Suggest technical solutions addressing customer requirements and prepare associated cost data to establish relevant and competitive pricing. Assess and document that all new business opportunities meet the financial requirements established by management. For allocated projects or accounts, be the focal point for ensuring customer complaints are resolved in a timely and effective manner. Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of the company's services. Suggest and take part in assigned exhibits, trade shows and other sales initiatives. Propose and supervise the creation of marketing material to better promote the products. Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for customers and internal communications. Deliver presentations to company executives and management teams to highlight business or marketing opportunities. Actively participate in the periodic updates of the website.
Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the field, with daily customer interaction. Minimum 5 years design experience in engineering design services preferred. Experience in a small business environment preferred. Excellent relationship and presentation skills. Advanced problem-solving skills, critical thinker. Understanding of FARS / DFARS and contract terms. Strong business modeling and strategy skills, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.
