Description: Job Summary Our accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team with the possibility of a flexible hybrid work arrangement after an initial period. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of tax preparation experience, with a dedication to accuracy and client service. The Tax Preparer will not only execute tax filing tasks but also have opportunities for learning and career advancement within the firm.
Key Responsibilities **Tax Preparation and Filing**: Accurately prepare and file individual and business tax returns following federal and state regulations. **Client Service**: Deliver exceptional customer service, address client inquiries, and articulate intricate tax issues in understandable terms. **Tax Research**: Conduct thorough research on challenging tax matters, ensuring compliance and effective resolutions. **Record Keeping**: Uphold client privacy, securely managing information, and meticulously documenting tax preparation activities. **Compliance**: Remain informed on tax legislation, pursuing continuing education as necessary to ensure adherence to all laws. **Consulting**: Offer advice on tax planning and financial decisions that may impact the client’s tax situation. **Accounting**: Offer clients assistance with bookkeeping and accounting, whether for monthly management purposes, or for preparing tax returns.
Qualifications **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credentials are advantageous. **Experience**: A minimum of 2-3 years in tax preparation. **Skills**: - Proficiency in Lacerte and/or UltraTax and the Microsoft Office suite. - Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Capacity to manage pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Additional Requirements - Comprehensive knowledge of tax codes at multiple levels (federal, state, local). - Commitment to handling sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
