Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Manager to lead and oversee our tax engagements, ensuring excellence in service delivery while supporting the development of our team. This role involves managing complex tax matters, fostering client relationships, and driving team success through mentorship and strategic leadership. We would like this person to reside in our Broadview Heights, Ohio office with expectations to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Take full accountability for the successful completion of large and complex tax engagements including those with multistate complexities. * Lead and coordinate the preparation, review, and timely filing of all federal, state and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. * Correspond with IRS for resolution of tax issues. * Conduct in-depth tax research to address intricate tax matters and provide informed recommendations. * Develop and implement customized tax strategies for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. * Drive process improvements and implement technology solutions to enhance tax reporting and compliance efficiency. * Oversee the delegation of tasks and provide comprehensive training to personnel assigned to client engagements. * Manage personnel scheduling, ensure adherence to deadlines, and monitor time budgets for all engagements. * Inspire and mentor staff to foster their professional growth, providing direct training, guidance, and participation in firm-wide seminars.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Strong technical expertise in federal, state, multistate and local tax regulations * Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff development and team management * Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities * Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience
* Bachelor or master's degree in Accounting or relevant field required * CPA preferred * 8+ years of public accounting experience * Experience in using Ultra Tax * Extensive experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses
