Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist for the Talent Acquisition department in University Human Resources. Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Consults with client departments to develop recruitment strategies addressing current and upcoming vacancies.
Acts as an advisor and collaborates with hiring managers to develop sourcing plans.
Develops messaging to attract top candidates.
Identifies challenges in recruitment, examines possible root causes, evaluates possible solutions, and advises departments on revisions to hiring practices to improve fairness and effectiveness.
Evaluates candidates’ experience and other credentials for relevance to open positions.
Builds and fosters relationships with university career services, student organizations and other campus resources to proactively build talent pipelines.
Determines most effective sources and approaches to build talent pipelines and executes strategies.
Applies University policy for determining background check requirements and evaluates need for additional pre-employment screening to meet regulatory requirements.
Negotiates offers and constructs offer letters.
Initiates and monitors onboarding processes.
Creates, manages, and maintains job postings via Applicant Tracking System.
Manages client relations and escalations.
Maintains ongoing communication with hiring teams regarding recruitment status and updates data in the Applicant Tracking System.
Serves as the liaison between management, staff, and applicants regarding employment policies, practices, and procedures.
Provides guidance and direction to hiring managers and administrative staff in the handling of staffing transactions, including process and timing, documentation, approval, implementation and communication.

FLSA Exempt Salary Details $62,129 - $65,000 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Two years of experience in human resource management.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
Two years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, staffing, and onboarding including compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.

Equipment Utilized Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to understand Applicant Tracking Systems.
