Our Swim Instructors direct and leads participant(s) through explanation, demonstration, and guided practice. This position is at our Lincoln Park location. Responsibilities: Take attendance when needed. Schedule lessons three-five days in advance. Follow Emergency Action Plan when needed. Fill out required records and reports on schedule. Attend staff meetings alongside training workshops. Communicate regularly with participants and their parents. Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Aquatics Director. Complete additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director. Adapt teaching approaches to all ages, skills, and abilities of participants. Use skill demonstrations and positive reinforcement while teaching new skills. Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules, and regulations; educate patrons about them. Monitor teaching, practice, and equipment areas to ensure the health and safety of participants. Utilize “Instructor Training Guide” as well as Training Workshops to begin and enhance the swimming curriculum to our members. Position Requirements: Previous instruction experience preferred. Must be punctual, reliable, energetic, and focused. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. (preferred) American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
