This position rotates every 3rd weekend- ON CALL Monday- Friday 6:45am-2:45pm every 3rd weekend On Call At North Shore Medical Center Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN supervision. We service a multitude of patients and their families across our vast network, while remaining committed to the professional development of our staff, the functional improvement of our patients, and the cultivation of strong partnerships within our communities. RESPONSIBILITIES Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed. Assists in cleaning the operating theater. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery, ensuring clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controlling bleeding, closing surgery sites using sutures or staples and properly dressing wounds. Reports to a supervisor or manager. Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists, and have 1 years of experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Collaborate with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients. High School diploma or equivalent. Experience One-year experience as an Surgical Scrub
Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.
