Overview The Strategic Development Program Manager position is a full time, exempt position which provides Program Management, Data Analysis, and Business Development in support of Strategic Development team priorities. This position will report to the Vice President of Strategic Development.
Roles & Responsibilities Drive the execution of high-priority strategic initiatives across capture, partnerships, and internal transformation efforts, in direct support of the VP of Strategic Development. Manage cross-functional programs that align with corporate growth objectives, including customer expansion, new capability development, and organizational optimization. Coordinate capture planning activities for new business pursuits, including opportunity analysis, win strategy development, gate reviews, and proposal support. Develop and maintain program schedules, milestones, risk assessments, and performance metrics for ongoing strategic efforts and investments. Support market research, competitor analysis, and customer intelligence gathering to inform strategic decision-making and pursuit prioritization. Track and report progress against strategic goals, initiatives, and growth KPIs; prepare executive-level updates and briefing materials. Partner with Engineering, Operations, Contracts, and Finance to ensure alignment and execution across the lifecycle of key initiatives and captures. Identify and mitigate barriers to execution through proactive problem solving, stakeholder coordination, and change management. Support internal process improvement efforts to enhance strategic planning, pipeline development, and BD operations. Contribute to the development of whitepapers, capability briefs, and other strategic messaging to position Cummings Aerospace in emerging markets. Maintain awareness of DoD acquisition trends, emerging requirements, and government funding priorities to shape future offerings. Serve as a force multiplier to the VP of Strategic Development – anticipating organizational and team needs, managing high visibility tasks, and stepping in to lead when required. Skills and Competencies Bachelors degree in technical or operational field required; Masters degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in a combination of program management, product management, or business operations managing sophisticated, cross-functional programs from end-to-end in a demanding environment. Excellent communication skills with a strong background in strategy, business development, technical program management, and business operations. Highly skilled in data analysis and data visualization. Demonstrated capture expertise. Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
