Staff Accountant SUMMARY The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Department by performing diverse accounting functions including accounts receivable management, general ledger maintenance, and financial data processing. This position contributes to accurate financial reporting, efficient transaction processing, and overall departmental operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts Receivable & Financial Processing • Prepare and process customer invoices and billing statements • Apply customer payments and resolve payment-related issues • Process daily deposits and verify accuracy • Monitor accounts receivable aging and conduct collection activities • Process credit applications and assessments • Maintain accurate records and investigate discrepancies General Ledger & Period-End Activities • Support month-end closing procedures through journal entries and reporting • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and bank statements • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis • Track and process vendor expenses and related allowances • Support asset management and documentation Special Projects & Compliance • Prepare documentation for external audits and budget processes • Assist with tax reconciliations and regulatory filings • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives Administrative Support • Maintain organized accounting records and ensure compliance with retention policies • Provide backup support for expense processing and accounts payable functions • Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Bachelor's degree preferred • 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred Skills & Competencies • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting. Compensation in the $28-$38/hour range DOE
