Stadium Operations and Events Internship

Department: Stadium and Event Operations Reports to: Director of Stadium and Event Operations Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt/Seasonal
Period: August 18, 2025 - December 12, 2025
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work alongside, and assist the Director of Stadium and Event Operations with daily operations duties Stadium maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep, and vendors Planning, set-up, and breakdown of all stadium events during the season and out of season Management and scheduling of game day staff members (Ushers, Cleaning Crew, Security Staff, Parking, and emergency service vendors) Assist other departments with various tasks, when necessary and appropriate Manage and cultivate vendor relationships for stadium improvement projects and day-to-day affairs. Assist in departmental problem solving, project planning, and the development and execution of departmental goals and objectives Perform daily walkthroughs of the facility to ensure proper set-up is complete for each event Other duties as assigned
Expectations/Qualifications: At least Junior level college/university student or graduate student enrolled in a related field (Sports Management, Hospitality, Business Management) Active interest in working in professional sports Effective written and verbal communication skills Minimum of one year of working in sports preferred, but not required Knowledge of how to operate basic hand tools and heavy machinery preferred, but not required Proactive, energetic, self-starter Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs Ability to spend most of the shift outside and on your feet in all weather conditions Available to work long hours, days/nights, weekends, and possible holidays. Work well with others and independently Strong organizational skills Ability to balance many projects at once Be a leader in customer service Conduct self in a professional manner both in personal appearance and attitude Represent the Houston SaberCats at business and community functions in a professional manner.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting, as well as, physically at the Stadium. This role can require physical work and will sometimes require work in the elements (wind, rain, warm, cold, etc). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopier.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50lbs. Ability to sit for long periods of time, hear, see, and touch. Ability to walk long distances and/or stand for long periods of time.
Travel:
This position does not require travel.
