Position Overview:
Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a background in hotel or resort environments and possess a deep understanding of core data processing and storage infrastructure security standards, specifically adhering to PCI Data Security Standards (DSS) and cybersecurity best practices.
Responsibilities: Implement and maintain core data processing and storage infrastructure security standards across all properties in accordance with PCI DSS and cybersecurity best practices. Update and manage all core infrastructure architecture diagrams and documentation related to PCI DSS requirements and information security policies and procedures. Maintain configurations and security profiles of computing and data storage equipment, including servers, workstations, and peripherals. Deploy, manage, and maintain storage-area networks (SANs), ensuring primary and secondary data storage availability, stability, and security within the server farm. Collaborate with the Network Administrator to manage the Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) system, capturing and storing core server and device logs. Oversee data backup and recovery solutions, both local and cloud-based. Deploy, manage, and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and/or application virtualization solutions. Provide tier-2 end-user support and after-hours on-call support coverage approximately one week per month. Offer design and engineering guidance related to core infrastructure design and deployment. Collaborate with the Director of Information Technology, Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, IT Support Manager, and management to implement company-wide IT initiatives. Assist with capital planning and operating budget development, including analysis and recommendations for advancing IT initiatives, goals, and strategies. Ensure the effective working order of implemented technologies, maintaining system uptime and reliability to meet operational needs. Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on core infrastructure equipment and systems. Conduct diagnostic processes routinely to identify and resolve potential stability or performance issues. Assist with the specification, selection, procurement, configuration, and deployment of end-user devices (workstations, thin clients, printers, tablets, etc.). Manage core IT services, including Active Directory, file & print services, LDAP, DHCP, SMTP, antivirus/anti-malware, System Center, etc. Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field. 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a hotel or resort environment. Proven experience with PCI DSS, cybersecurity best practices, and information security policies. Strong proficiency in SAN management, SIEM systems, and data backup and recovery solutions. Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus. Physical Requirements: Sitting and Standing: The Senior Systems Administrator is expected to spend a significant amount of time working at a desk, utilizing computer systems. Some tasks may require standing and moving between workstations or equipment. Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally, the position may involve lifting and carrying computer equipment or peripherals, typically not exceeding 50 pounds. Vision: The role requires good vision, including the ability to read and interpret written information on computer screens, documentation, and other related materials. Hearing: The ability to hear and respond to verbal communication, alarms, and other auditory cues is important for effective collaboration and system monitoring. Dexterity and Mobility: The Senior Systems Administrator should have the manual dexterity to operate keyboards, mouse devices, and other computer-related equipment. Mobility may be required to access equipment in server rooms or other technology infrastructure areas. Communication: Clear and effective communication is essential, including the ability to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work Environment: The position may require working in a climate-controlled office environment as well as in server rooms or data centers with varying temperatures and noise levels. Some tasks may require working outside in the natural elements as well.
