Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022 environments in on-premises infrastructures.
Performing database administration tasks including backups, restores, integrity checks, job scheduling, and index maintenance.
Troubleshooting and resolving SQL performance issues for clustered, highly available enterprise environments.
Applying DISA STIGs to SQL Server environments and ensuring databases are compliant with security baselines and hardening standards.
Participating in change management, incident resolution, and documenting database environments and configurations.
Collaborating with application owners to optimize and support application performance.
Implementing and maintaining high availability and disaster recovery solutions using native SQL features such as Always On Availability Groups or Failover Clustering.
Participating in system upgrades, patching cycles, and version migrations.
Writing and maintaining SQL scripts and PowerShell automation for administrative tasks.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and 3+ years of relevant IT experience.
3+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience, working with SQL Server 2016 or newer.
Experience supporting on-premises environments only — no cloud experience required or expected.
Demonstrated experience with applying and maintaining DISA SQL STIGs.
Familiarity with tools and techniques for backups, performance tuning, and database health monitoring.
DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II compliant (e.g., Security+ CE) required prior to start date
Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus.

The likely salary range for this position is $105,622 - $141,821. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
