We have a short term opening for a full-time school based Speech Language Pathologist near Geneva, IL for the 2025-26 school year (August through November).
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supports students by assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the SLP collaborates with educators, families, and specialists to help students develop effective communication skills essential for academic success and social development. Key Responsibilities: Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Provide direct therapy services (including co-treating for social language groups with School Social Worker) to students based on identified needs and IEP goals.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate communication goals into the classroom setting.
Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and legal requirements.
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.
Educate and support school staff and parents on speech and language development and disorders.
Provide consultation services to general and special education teachers regarding communication strategies in the classroom.
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification: ● Illinois Professional Educator’s License (PEL) ● Speech Language Pathologist endorsement required
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current licensure or certification as required by the state (e.g., state SLP license and/or ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence – CCC-SLP).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience working with school-age children, preferably in a school or educational setting.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education processes.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
