Armed Special Police Officer (On-Call) — Washington, DC

Job Type: On-Call / As-Needed
Location: Washington, DC (Various sites – Critical Infrastructure)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate
Schedule: On-call, no guaranteed hours, 12-hour shifts possible

IMPORTANT: This is an on-call position with no set schedule. Officers must be available to respond within 48–72 hours when dispatched.

Requirements:

• Current/Valid DC ARMED SPO Certification (MANDATORY)

• Pass Valentis Firearms Qualification

• Valid driver’s license

• 21 years or older

• High school diploma or GED

• Minimum 2 years SPO experience

• Clear criminal background and drug screening

• Strong communication skills

• Flexible availability, including weekends/holidays

Responsibilities:

• Patrol and monitor assigned areas

• Control access to restricted zones

• Report incidents in clear, detailed logs

• Provide professional customer service

• Support critical infrastructure protection efforts

Physical Demands:

• Standing/walking for long periods

• Lifting up to 50 lbs

• Ability to climb stairs

• Good vision and hearing required
