The PRIDE (Practicing and Reaching Individual Dream Everyday) Program serves students at our Shakopee Town Square location in grades 9-12. PRIDE is an Autism Program (ASD), Emotional/Behavioral Program (EBD), and a Developmental Cognitive/Behavioral Program (DCD).
Description :
Special Education Paraeducator, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days.
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher. Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students. Works Individually or in small groups.
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
Pay & Benefits:

Qualifications :
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded).
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred, but not required.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
• Must pass a background check.
• The ability to obtain PCA/CFSS certificate.
• Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
