Oracle Health and AI (OHAI) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic technical Director to lead critical automation and scaling initiatives within the OHAI Platform's Semantic Database team. In this role, you will drive the design, delivery, and operational excellence of systems that power OHAI's Semantic Index (SI) product. You will lead a high-performing engineering team, ensuring key initiatives-such as SI instance creation, data bootstrapping automation, and scalable customer onboarding are executed with efficiency, security, and quality. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned technical leader who thrives in complex, high-impact environments and is passionate about automation and delivering business value at scale.
Your decisions and strategies will directly drive the success of the Semantic Database team and the broader OHAI Platform, enabling Oracle to scale onboarding, support more customers, and improve operational excellence.
Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
At least 10 years' experience in engineering management, with a record of leading large-scale, cloud-based platform initiatives
Expertise in distributed systems, automation, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS, OHAI, or similar)
Proven experience in driving strategic engineering programs and managing high-performing teams
Demonstrated leadership in building automated, scalable backend and/or data systems
Excellent decision-making and cross-team collaboration skills
Experience with customer onboarding, control planes, observability, and resource automation is highly desirable
Responsibilities
As Director, you will provide end-to-end leadership for a team responsible for automating and scaling SI instance provisioning and data onboarding, to dramatically increase customer onboarding efficiency and reduce manual processes. You will ensure your team's initiatives are closely aligned with OHAI's strategic vision for rapid platform growth, stability, and observability. By building a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, you'll coach and mentor engineers, promote talent development, and enable the professional growth of your team members.
You will also be responsible for setting clear, measurable goals at both the individual and team level. You'll implement processes to track progress, evaluate performance, and ensure accountability, delivering tangible business outcomes and supporting OHAI's ambitious growth targets for the SI initiative.

Build, grow, and lead multiple engineering teams to deliver critical services and components for the Oracle Health & AI organization
Lead and inspire a team responsible for automating and scaling instance creation and data bootstrapping processes
Drive the execution of strategic initiatives to increase onboarding efficiency and reduce manual engineering touchpoints
Partner with cross-functional teams to shape and deliver technical solutions supporting business growth
Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
Set and manage clear, actionable goals that align with OHAI's platform business objectives
Ensure operational resiliency, scalability, and security across all systems your team builds

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
