Small Business Loan Specialist

Description: Position Purpose: This role supports the growth and development of the bank's small business lending unit. The primary responsibility of this role is to review small business loans submitted for credit review, analyzing financial data, and ensuring appropriate documentation is received to complete loan documentation. The specialist will ensure that applicable lending policies and practices are followed while providing guidance and support to other roles within the organization. What you'll do: Perform an evaluation of small business loans submitted by Loan Officers Support Loan Officers with applications received through the online application process Maintain an understanding of all products, pricing, and underwriting guidelines for all small business products Analyze financial data to include review of financial statements and personal/business tax returns Underwrite loan facilities up to $500,000 while balancing the customers' needs with the Bank's risk profile, growth and earnings goals Exercise discretion and judgement in loan decisions Communicate credit decisions with loan officers Gather necessary paperwork and documentation required for small business loans Maintain an accurate pipeline record and update for all loans in process Identify and recommend products that meets the customer's needs and the bank's lending guidelines Use bank loan system to process loan requests Ensure compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines Coach and mentor Business Lenders and Commercial Loan Assistants; assist with training and guidance as needed. All other duties, as assigned.
