Job Summary: As a Temporary Server/Busser/Food Runner, you will be responsible for delivering excellent guest service while ensuring that the dining area remains clean and organized. You will also play a key role in efficiently delivering food from the kitchen to the tables. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, temporary setting.


Essential Functions:

Server Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Present menus, provide information about menu items, and make recommendations.
  • Accurately take and process food and drink orders using a point-of-sale system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring a high standard of service.
  • Handle transactions, including processing payments and managing cash/credit transactions.
  • Maintain awareness of current event promotions, specials, and menu items.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and resolve issues effectively.
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Busser Responsibilities:

  • Clear and clean tables promptly after guests have finished dining.
  • Reset tables with clean linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments.
  • Keep the dining area tidy and organized, including floors and seating areas.
  • Refill beverages and provide additional support to guests as needed.
  • Assist with restocking supplies and preparing for peak service periods.
  • Collaborate with servers and other team members to manage busy periods effectively.
  • Dispose of trash and manage waste disposal in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Food Runner Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve and deliver food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables efficiently.
  • Ensure that food is presented in an appealing and accurate manner, with attention to special requests and dietary restrictions.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to address any issues or special requests.
  • Assist with the organization and management of the expediting station to ensure smooth food delivery.
  • Provide support to servers and bussers by helping with the setup and breakdown of dining areas during busy periods.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-energy, temporary environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and potentially extended hours.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
