ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following statements reflect the general nature and scope of work performed in this role. •Perform accounting functions as assigned with accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls (e.g., bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation).

•Ensure quality in day-to-day operations including Accounts Payables, Receivables, Physical Inventory, and Bank Reconciliations.

•Assist with month and year-end close, demonstrating accountability and integrity in general ledger maintenance and financial analysis.

•Prepare financial reports for Management, HUD, and the Board of Commissioners with a focus on accuracy and professionalism.

•Support and respond to audits (Financial, SEMAP, PHAS, and others) by providing exceptional documentation and responses.

•Collaborate with Management to proactively resolve financial issues, exercising initiative and creativity where needed.

•Participate in budget preparation, ensuring resources are allocated to maximize value and operational excellence.

•Research financial-related issues, provide documentation, and contribute quality insights to improve procedures.

•Lead financial audits and prepare necessary schedules with timeliness, integrity, and professionalism.

•Act as a liaison with financial institutions to resolve issues and enhance service, demonstrating respectful and professional communication.

•Remain current on industry guidelines related to financial operations and actively promote understanding of these standards across the agency.

•Update and maintain standard operating procedures for all finance functions to ensure consistency and excellence.

•Serve as a mentor, fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous professional development.

•Lead and contribute to agency-wide projects and initiatives in a manner that upholds agency values.

•Perform additional duties as assigned, upholding accountability, professionalism, and excellence.

•Ability to guide, mentor, and support others in line with agency values.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.

•Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, including two (2) years in a senior-level role.

OTHER: The candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence and maintain an insurable driving record under the terms and conditions of the CMHA auto liability policy. The candidate may have no more than 6 accumulated points in 3 consecutive years.
