Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development Join our dynamic team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll take ownership of the software design and development for key components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. In this role, you'll dive deep into all aspects of the technology stack, working to design and develop robust distributed system interactions. You will be part of the Compute Bare Metal Provisioning team, which is responsible for automating the complete server lifecycle from new platform shapes (AMD/Intel/Arm/Nvidia) creation to customer-ready instance provisioning and firmware management. This unique position allows you to work at the intersection of bare metal hardware and full-stack orchestration frameworks, making your contributions invaluable. Your work will involve direct interaction with essential components such as BMCs, NICs, SmartNICs, ILOMs, GPUs, and custom firmware stacks. You will build high-performance, scalable microservices and tools that provision, configure, secure, and validate server platforms across OCI's expansive fleet of Compute and GPU Infrastructure. Collaborating closely with teams in Compute, Networking, Security, Data center Engineering, and Hardware Development, you will help launch, scale, and maintain cutting-edge server platforms efficiently. Responsibilities In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for software design and development of major components within Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. Bring your problem-solving attitude and distributed systems expertise to tackle any part of the stack and low-level systems, including Linux, Docker, Java web services, and Terraform. We value innovation, so you'll be expected to proactively identify challenges and take action to deliver results. Your work will prioritize simplicity and scalability in an agile, collaborative environment. Qualifications: 3-8+ years of experience in delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, Linux development, and Systems debugging.

Proficient in Object Oriented programming (C++ or Java), with experience in scripting languages like Python.

Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.

Familiarity with tools such as Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.

Working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.

Robust understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.

Exceptional troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Experience in building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
