Description
The Senior Program Manager, Content and Events is responsible for developing and executing content strategy while managing content operations for AWS internal events and executive communications. This role plays a crucial part in shaping internal messaging, supporting executive communications, and ensuring engaging content experiences across AWS internal events. They work closely with stakeholders across AWS to develop compelling content strategies that align with organizational objectives while maintaining operational excellence in event execution. They play a pivotal role in orchestrating all aspects of internal event content strategy and operations, ensuring cohesive messaging and high-quality content experiences. They establish best practices, drive innovation, and maintain the highest standards in both strategic planning and content delivery.
This position requires expertise in both event programming and content operations, combining strategic thinking with operational excellence. The ideal candidate will excel at quickly absorbing complex information and transforming it into compelling content that resonates with executive and global audiences. You will build and maintain relationships across Marketing, Sales, Global Services and Executive Leadership, ensuring consistent delivery of impactful messaging and connecting strategic threads across all events.
Success in this role requires program management capabilities, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and proven experience in content strategy and operational delivery. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent workstreams, and adapting quickly to changing priorities. This role demands attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and the ability to influence. Up to 20% travel required.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Content Development
Develop content strategies for internal AWS events
Partner with executives on internal communications
Define content governance and editorial guidelines
Enhance internal messaging and employee engagement
Develop strategic narratives and messaging frameworks
Align content with organizational objectives
Content Operations Management
Oversee content workflows: planning, scheduling, catalog management
Manage speaker programs and support
Implement content operations best practices
Drive operational efficiency improvements
Manage content technology vendors and stakeholders
Conduct post-event analysis and implement improvements
Develop process documentation and training materials
Cross-functional Leadership
Ensure messaging alignment with executive communications
Collaborate on consistent content strategy across events
Partner on run-of-show and technical requirements
Collaborate on visual and interactive elements
Lead content operations teams
Build relationships with key stakeholders
Drive innovation in content delivery
Content Technology & Analytics
Oversee content management systems
Define technical requirements with Event Technology
Develop and track content performance metrics
Analyze data to optimize content and engagement
Implement automation tools to streamline workflows
Create comprehensive event documentation

We lead the content arm of AWS highest tiered event series, manage complex content operations, and ensure exceptional execution from strategy to delivery.

Basic Qualifications
6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
Experience communicating results to senior leadership
Experience communicating results to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
