As a Senior Principal Software Development Engineer , you will be instrumental in developing new services for our customers, enhancing our engineering processes, and leading a team of proficient engineers. In the OCI Platform Service team, you will collaborate with our product management and engineering teams to conceptualize, design, and implement innovative features for our users. Your role will encompass coding, operating, and troubleshooting services, ensuring optimum support for our customers. You will also provide technical leadership and mentor fellow engineers. We prefer candidates with 8+ years of related software engineering experience and a strong technical background in operating cloud services. You should be proficient in an Object Oriented Language and have successful project leadership experience. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of specific features within our services. Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering growth within the team. Tackle complex challenges in distributed systems and highly reliable services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet high availability standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience developing and managing large-scale software systems. Strong proficiency in Java and familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Go). Experience in building scalable, cloud-native distributed systems. Ability to thrive in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment. Understanding of REST Architecture and JSON. Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical concepts. Experience in production operations and best practices for deploying quality code. This position is based in Nashville, TN (primary location - 5 days/week) or Austin, TX (secondary location). Relocation assistance provided. Please note this is not a remote position.
