Provide general direction and oversight with the custodial crews and perform the full range of custodial duties. Ensure janitors complete daily cleaning and/or housekeeping tasks in accordance with contract requirements.
Primary Duties
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.
Direct the custodial crew in cleaning of the building/facility.
Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, vacuuming and buffing, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, empty trash receptacles, and replacing lining of trash cans.
Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
Oversee and maintain the ordering of supplies for the building/facility.
Receive and review daily work schedules on cleaning frequencies and assign custodial crew accordingly.
Additional Responsibilities
Open and close locks and unlock facilities as needed.
Keep records of work completed.
Responsible for the collection of recycling bins located throughout the facility and distributed to the recycling center.
Responsible for the security of designated locations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
Minimum one-year custodial work-related experience required.
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
Previous experience in a senior custodial capacity preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
Knowledge of the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of chemicals and products.
Strong commitment to a high level of service and quality standards.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan and organize.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong sense of urgency; self-directed.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
