We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Environmental Services Project Manager to lead the delivery of environmental evaluations, permitting, and project management services for a variety of environmental infrastructure projects within our Water team. This role plays a critical part in supporting sustainable water, wastewater, and transportation infrastructure development by ensuring regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and technical excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in environmental planning and permitting, a strong understanding of water-related infrastructure, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that protect natural resources, support community health, and advance our clients' environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of environmental evaluations for water and wastewater infrastructure, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the preparation of environmental documentation, including technical reports, impact assessments, and compliance strategies.
- Ensure alignment with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including NEPA and other permitting frameworks.
- Develop and manage permitting strategies for a wide range of water infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review permit applications and supporting documentation for submittal to regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate timely and successful permit approvals.
- Manage the full lifecycle of environmental services projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations and internal performance goals.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff and collaborate with engineering and planning teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on environmental services projects.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including engineering, planning, and construction teams.
- Support internal project reviews, QA/QC processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in environmental permitting, planning, and project management for water infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months (preferred).
- Experience working with municipal clients and regulatory agencies.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
