What you'll do as a Content and Media Specialist

We're hiring a Content and Media Specialist to lead content creation for our Resource Center, social media platforms, and media outreach. This role is responsible for developing, producing, and managing strategic content that reinforces our brand reputation as a top fire and life safety building technology integrator. From customer case studies and thought leadership blogs to full-scale video assets from customer site visits, this role will bring our projects, people, and purpose to life.

The ideal candidate is an experienced content creator with a sharp eye for storytelling, strong video production and editing skills, a solid understanding of SEO and digital content best practices, and the ability to deliver multiple content pieces each week while working cross-functionally with subject matter experts, sales leaders, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Management

  • Own and manage the content calendar across formats (written, video, visual) and platforms (web, social, media outreach) ensuring timely alignment with marketing campaigns and events.
  • Identify relevant industry topics, trends, and customer stories to fuel our Resource Center and brand campaigns.
  • Plan and execute multimedia content that supports brand awareness, lead generation, and thought leadership goals.
  • Track content performance (views, clicks, shares, conversions) and adjust strategies accordingly

Content Creation

  • Write and produce engaging case studies, blogs, customer success stories, project spotlights, podcasts, and expert Q&As.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to create compelling video case studies, project overviews, and testimonial reels-from initial concept through to final production.
  • Optimize content for SEO, readability, and brand voice across all digital channels.

Video & Visual Media Production

  • Plan, film, and edit professional-quality video content (interviews, project features, customer testimonials, solution spotlights).
  • Capture on-site photos and video at customer locations, project sites, and company events
  • Manage all aspects of video content including scripting, storyboarding, scheduling, shooting, editing, and publishing.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work cross-functionally with the Digital Marketing Strategist, Demand Generation Manager, Director of Marketing, leadership team, and sales team to support strategic business initiatives through content.
  • Build strong relationships with project managers, engineers, customers, and industry partners to capture authentic stories and technical insights.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create content that positions Tech Electronics as a trusted, forward-thinking information source.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Multimedia Production, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of content creation experience, ideally in a B2B or technology-focused environment.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of published work (written and video).
  • Proficient in video production tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of SEO, keyword strategy, and web publishing best practices.
  • Highly organized with proven experience managing editorial calendars and production timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Self-starter who can take a project from concept to completion with minimal oversight.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in or writing about building technologies, construction, life safety, AV, or security industries.
  • Experience pitching or placing content with media outlets or industry publications.
  • Familiarity with web CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Yoast), and project management tools (e.g., Trello).
