Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, automate, and support cloud-based database solutions. This role demands expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, merging cloud engineering, database administration, and automation skills to ensure our database environments remain secure, scalable, and efficient.
In this position, you will work with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud products, leveraging enterprise logging services, automation platforms, and code management tools. This role offers a Hybrid work schedule requiring you to work in our office located in Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; or Charlotte, NC, three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement innovative cloud-based database architectures tailored to application and organizational goals.
Collaborate with application teams to create scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud database solutions that meet enterprise standards.
Engage with Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineers to incorporate database CI/CD pipelines into application deployments using tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
Utilize your expertise in IaC tools, including AWS CloudFormation and Terraform, to automate database provisioning and repetitive tasks.
Develop and uphold disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
Create and maintain deployment manuals and operational procedures.
Manage source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub.
Automate monitoring and alerting systems for database performance and availability.
Assess new product releases and recommend implementation strategies for the latest versions.
Integrate database workflows with ServiceNow to manage changes and incidents effectively.
Provide second-level support to troubleshoot production incidents.
Required Skills & Experience
10 years of professional experience managing relational and NoSQL databases in cloud environments (AWS and GCP).
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience with version control and workflow automation using GitHub.
Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines, Ansible automation, and ServiceNow.
Thorough understanding of networking concepts, VPCs, subnets, and security best practices for database deployments.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effortlessly.
A passion for engineering excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Effective collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams, alongside strong critical thinking capabilities.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
Exceptional documentation skills for creating and maintaining operational policies and procedures.
A keen interest in continuous learning and professional development.

Compensation Overview
The annualized base pay range listed is based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay may vary and can be above or below the listed range based on factors such as performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies necessary for the role. Base pay is just one part of our total compensation package, which may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition awards. The annualized base pay range for this role is $137,200 - $205,800.
