About the Role
A leading international CDMO is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive business growth in the pre-clinical and early clinical biologics space (e.g., therapeutic proteins, antibodies, vaccines, viral vectors) across the East Coast, US. This is a highly strategic, client-facing position focused on expanding our client portfolio among pharma, biotech, and emerging biotechs, with full flexibility for remote work.
Key Responsibilities
Identify & engage new business opportunities in pre-clinical and early development biologics (including mAbs, bi-specifics, viral glycoproteins).
Develop & maintain high-level relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
Collaborate with technical and scientific teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
Represent the company at major industry events & conferences (US & Europe).
Lead contract negotiations, from initial contact to deal closure.
Contribute to business strategy, market analysis, and revenue forecasting.
Leverage multi-channel strategies (networking, cold calling, events, social media) for business development.
Communicate market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to senior management and R&D.
Requirements
PhD in a relevant field (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Protein Engineering, or similar).
Minimum 10 years experience in business development or partnering within the biotech/biologics sector.
Extensive network in the pre-clinical biologics arena (therapeutic proteins, antibodies, vaccines, viral vectors).
Strong understanding of market dynamics, competition, and client needs in biologics discovery, cell line or process development.
Exceptional skills in customer relationship management, deal-making, communication and negotiation.
Proven ability to work independently within a remote, globally distributed team (primarily EU-based).
Willingness to travel (~25% US/occasional Europe).
Language: English (native/bilingual proficiency, daily professional use required).
Based on the US East Coast (valid US work permit required).
