Senior Accountant
Our client is located in Waterbury, and they are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting operations and support broader financial initiatives. This role is ideal for someone comfortable with QuickBooks and eager to contribute to both routine tasks and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
The senior accountant will handle core day-to-day functions in QuickBooks, including cutting checks, recording deposits, and assisting with payroll entry alongside the Controller.
Assist with month end close
Help build out and implement new accounting controls and support continuous improvements in financial workflows.
Assist with minimal loan-related accounting.
The senior accountant will serve as a backup for the Controller and assist in the preparation of financials for external initiatives, including Waterbury Promise.
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Accountant
BA in Accounting
At least four years of relevant experience
Must have experience with QuickBooks
Banking automation experience is a plus
