Position Title: School Administrative Assistant I (OHS)

General Responsibilities :
Ensures the smooth operation of the front office by assisting staff, students, and
parents as needed
Essential Duties:

Supports the administration with clerical duties to include but not limited to: Preparing and maintaining student letters and reports Scheduling student, parent, and/or staff meetings Coordinating, scheduling, and preparing paperwork for candidate interviews Maintaining supervisor's appointment calendar
Serves as receptionist, greets visitors to the office, and routes them to the proper location. Answers telephone, gives information to callers and routes incoming calls to the proper person. Submits maintenance work orders as needed. Maintains employee mailboxes. Receive, sort, and distribute mail. Maintains and updates the OHS webpage calendar and announcements. Updates Schoology as needed. Organizes and prepares student year end events, awards, and recognition. Orders and verifies receipt of supplies; maintains inventories. Enters and maintains employee and student information in PowerSchool. Serves as backup for the substitute coordinator. Serves as backup for processing payroll for staff; maintaining records of staff payroll. Performs other duties as assigned. Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of standard school policies and regulations Strong computer and software skills Exhibits excellent communication and public relations skills with parents, students, and staff when requesting information or assistance Ability to work well under pressure Ability to initiate, organize, and perform work independently Ability to main confidentiality at all times Ability to exercise appropriate judgement in a variety of situations, including crisis Serves as a role model Requisite Education and Experience: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Prior clerical or administrative assistant experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions required.
