Job Summary The RN Coordinator/Specialist - Clinic provides direct patient care and clinical coordination within a physician clinic setting This role supports medical staff by managing patient assessments, interventions, care planning, and follow-up In addition to delivering evidence-based nursing care, the RN Coordinator also assists in the oversight of clinic operations, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement activities Essential Functions Provides direct nursing care through assessment, treatment, education, and follow-up across the patient lifespan Collaborates with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient services and optimize outcomes Documents clinical interventions and patient responses in the electronic medical record accurately and timely Oversees daily patient flow and clinic operations to ensure efficient, patient-centered care Monitors and addresses potential or actual issues affecting patient care and safety Participates in performance improvement programs and ensures compliance with hospital standards and regulations (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission) Supports fiscal responsibility by maintaining supply levels and assisting with budget oversight Acts as a clinical resource to other nursing staff and supports onboarding and training Ensures the clinic environment is safe, clean, and regulatory-compliant Advocates for patients and collaborates with families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Strong clinical knowledge and proficiency in outpatient care standards Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster patient and staff relationships Proficient in use of electronic health records and basic office software Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic clinic setting Demonstrates leadership potential and ability to support clinic staff and initiatives Critical thinking and decision-making skills, with a focus on patient-centered care Familiarity with quality improvement, accreditation requirements, and infection control principles Qualifications Education Associate degree in Nursing or completion of an approved nursing program required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Licenses/Certifications Current RN license in the state of practice required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire Experience Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in a physician practice setting preferred
