Job Description Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 0630-1700 Experience: 1+ years of CVOR experience required, travel experience preferred License: RN - State License or a participating state in the NLC Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Certification Must-Have: ASN required, BSN preferred

Description: Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team, the patient, and the family. Identifies and meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and relevant practice acts. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care and organizational mission. Assesses patient physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records and clinical data. Evaluates patient responses and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Develops and implements patient care plans and observes outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrates competency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Provides patient and family education through the assessment of patient and family learning readiness and needs. Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care. Delivers care with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience. Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Serves as a professional role model for staff, demonstrating ethical and professional nursing practices. Manages resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs. Functions effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication and mutual respect. Precepts and mentors new staff or nursing students as needed. Seeks learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence. Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning. Evaluates personal nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines. Takes action to achieve identified goals during the evaluation process. Demonstrates a commitment to the organization through ongoing participation in meetings. Understands the value of measurement and the importance of continuous quality improvement data.
