Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the funding and servicing of retail (consumer) loans, as well as vehicle title tracking and maintenance tasks. Ensures compliance with all procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements related to retail loans. Regularly communicates with partner departments, lending staff, third-party vendors, and state/county offices.

Pay range for this hourly position is $23.61 - $27.60/hr with a progressive benefits package.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in conducting GreenState's mission and vision. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities. Ensures confidentiality of member information. Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment. Maintains members' account records in an accurate, thorough and confidential manner. Performs daily transactions, may include, but are not limited to:
* Posting of loan payments. * Disbursing checks. * Posting deposits and withdrawals. * Posting general ledger transactions and corrections. * Processing of mail transactions. * Processing incoming/outgoing wires.
Generates, works, and files routine reports regarding loan maintenance. Assists in various departmental functions as directed and assigned. Functions may include, but are not limited to:
* Participates and assists in departmental training sessions * Performs general file maintenance on accounts * Assists in general collection work * Assists in the processing of periodic reports * Performs clerical duties including general filing.
Corresponds with other financial institutions to process payoff requests. Assists in obtaining member's signatures and missing documentation in a timely manner. Researches and adjusts retail loan accounts and related general ledgers as necessary. Supports staff, members, and other financial institutions through prompt attention to group and individual requests for assistance. Identifies opportunities for efficiencies, process improvements, relationship growth, reducing errors, and participates in the resolution of those opportunities. Processes Paybreak claims payments, and assists members, staff, and vendors with questions. Reviews retail loans for completeness at the time of disbursement. Finalizes retail loan applications by creating loans on borrower accounts in the core system and dispersing the loan proceeds as instructed. Corresponds with lending staff and assists with resolving any delays in funding. Researches, processes, and adjusts loan accounts, member account discrepancies, and statement problems, and provides copies of documents as necessary. Replies to inquiries in a timely manner and carefully records servicing request details. Reviews compliance reports, researches, and makes corrections as needed. Maintains and documents incomplete files, outstanding titles/liens, and error logs. Generates periodic exception reports of these items and advises management, lending, and collections staff as required. Limits GreenState risk by tracking titles without liens; communicates with members and lending staff as required to resolve outstanding lien issues. Perfects title liens, files UCCs, and processes lien extensions. Follows procedure and exercises sound judgment prior to updating member loan to default terms. Creates, maintains, and manages all electronic title reports through current vendor. Assists the Commercial department in the tracking, management, and release of business and personal titles on an as-needed basis. Assists the Indirect Lending department and its supervisor(s) in working with dealerships to track and secure titles on indirect loan types. Adheres to an organized filing system for all paper and electronic documentation and reports. Corresponds with other financial institutions and insurance agencies regarding retail loans and their documents, including total loss situations. Corresponds with all state and county offices regarding title transactions and issues. Processes paid off loans and title releases related to insurance payment (total loss) transactions. Tracks, prepares, and files title and UCC release documents in a timely manner. Reviews document imaging submissions for general accuracy, and maintains the document imaging platform as needed. Processes and tracks requests for title changes as requested by members and staff.
Job Requirements/Expectations
High school diploma or the equivalent (i.e. GED) and less than one year of related experience in a credit union or similar financial institution. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and good telephone manners and techniques. Proficiency with related computer applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications. Ability to use and understand written material and perform basic math calculations. Member account problem-solving skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers. Interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union in a positive manner. Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand. Job may require a non-traditional workweek including evening and /or weekend duties. Accuracy in recording daily transactions. Attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work assignments and organize work efficiently to handle large volumes of details. Good oral communication skills and the ability to produce written communication. Must be bondable.
