Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. This role involves direct patient care, ventilator management, diagnostic testing, and education. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care. Key Responsibilities: Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
Administer therapeutic interventions such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and bronchodilator treatments.
Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilatory support.
Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs), arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue, rapid response calls, and trauma resuscitations.
Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
Educate patients and families on managing respiratory conditions, equipment use, and treatment compliance.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment.
Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control guidelines, and safety standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care).
BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification preferred (based on patient population served).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and position patients, transport equipment, and respond quickly in emergencies.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Exposure to infectious diseases and biohazards; appropriate PPE provided.
Work Schedule: Day Shift
Weekends and holidays as needed
