Southwoods Health is hiring a RST, RPSGT or SDS to work in our sleep clinic. Will safely provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is able to perform the duties defines for a sleep technician and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. A sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.
Essential Duties:
- Participates as a team member in support of patient outcomes and experiences
- Maintains patient privacy and ensures confidentiality of protected information
- Participates in continuing education (10 CEUs per year) and other learning experiences
- Collects, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet patient needs
- Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning, apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards, perform physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals, and perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting
- Follows procedure protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data
- Accurately scores polysomnographs and generates appropriate reports
- Reviews and maintains patients medical record
- Accurately performs patient registration and ensure informed consents are signed
Qualifications:
- Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) credential.
- AHA BLS certification
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Leadership skills and ability to appropriately delegate
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to articulately document clinical picture
- Prioritization and time management
- Maintains professional demeanor at all times
