Diagnostic Imaging Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities: Utilizes the nursing process as a basis of care. Acknowledges, coordinates and implements diagnostic and therapeutic orders of each patient. Accountable for administration of, observation, charting, and reporting effects of drugs, intravenous procedure, and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and accurate manner. Identifies emergent situations, and is able to triage patients appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to operate necessary equipment. Responsible for administration of prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards, which includes mild to moderate and/or conscious sedation. • Responsible for IV insertions and maintenance of IV fluids as appropriate. With appropriate training performs PICC line/Mid line insertions and follows guidelines for inserting such lines. Completes direct assessment, evaluation and monitoring for all patient's undergoing procedures and thoroughly documents patient's response to prescribed interventions. Monitors and identifies cardiac rhythms and initiates related necessary interventions. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms. Assists with contrast reaction management. Monitors patients in MRI with pacemakers placed in conditional mode. Starts/DC IV and port with appropriate charting Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) encouraged Current Washington State Registered Nurse License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and ACLS Certification A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting required, with previous experience in ambulatory surgery and/or IV sedation strongly preferred. Successful completion with two (2) years combined peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement by chest radiograph or equivalent on the job training is strongly preferred.
