This position is not considered a permanent position; therefore, persons in this role must complete all required training to become a Cardiac Device Specialist I or his/her employment may be terminated from this position. The Cardiac Device Specialist Trainee must complete all required training provided by the department which could include competency checklists from device clinic rotations, online learning modules, and possible travel to offsite education facilities. The Cardiac Device Specialist Trainee is responsible for learning to perform rhythm interpretation during cardiology procedures, including but not limited to EKG's, Holter Monitors, Holter Scanning and the testing, troubleshooting and programming of implanted cardiac devices.
