As a Construction Recruiter at OneElmington, this individual's main goal is to find and retain excellent employees for our Construction Teams. This position is entrusted with an ongoing quest to discover talent, build a strong employment brand and ensure great relationships with both candidates and employees.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Must have experience Recruiting for Construction - This is non-negotiable.
  • Lead employer branding efforts within the construction industry to attract top field and office talent.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers, superintendents, and foremen, managing all logistics including jobsite visits, virtual interviews, and travel (as needed).
  • Clearly communicate interview logistics, expectations, and role requirements to both candidates and hiring teams to ensure alignment.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities, including prescreens, reference checks, interview scheduling, and offer coordination for construction roles at all levels.
  • Act as the primary liaison between candidates and construction leadership, providing regular updates and maintaining strong communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain candidate engagement from first contact through offer acceptance by ensuring timely follow-ups and check-ins.
  • Assist in new hire onboarding by collecting necessary documents (e.g., I-9, safety certifications), scheduling safety orientations, and coordinating first-day jobsite introductions.
  • Represent the company at job fairs, career expos, workforce development events, and trade school visits to build talent pipelines.
  • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) within Paycor Recruiting to manage candidate data, track hiring progress, and ensure timely updates.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all ATS records, including interview notes, offer letters, and hiring documentation.
  • Uphold full compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, safety standards, and internal hiring policies throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized documentation for candidate files, hiring approvals, and EEO tracking.
  • Continuously assess and suggest improvements to the recruitment process to enhance efficiency and the overall candidate experience.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proactively source construction talent through a variety of channels, including industry-specific job boards, trade schools, union partnerships, referrals, and social media platforms.
  • Review resumes and applications to identify candidates with relevant construction experience, certifications, and skillsets aligned with job requirements (e.g., carpenters, project managers, equipment operators, laborers).
  • Stay current with construction labor market trends, wage benchmarks, certification requirements, and recruitment best practices to better support workforce planning.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing, Human Resources or a related field is helpful, though not required
  • 2-5 years of experience in Recruiting or Talent Acquisition
  • Required experience recruiting in the construction industry
  • Experience in Efficient Apply, Paycor, Efficient Hire, LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor is a plus.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Travel up to 15% of the time for Career Fairs and Job Fairs
