Paris Brothers is a Kansas City–based, family-owned business operating across coffee roasting and packaging, consumer packaged goods distribution, 3PL warehousing, and café/retail environments. Our operations span manufacturing facilities, warehouse environments (including unique underground storage), and customer-facing café locations.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Supervisor – Warehouse is responsible for owning and leading all warehouse-level quality assurance and food safety programs across Paris Brothers distribution and storage facilities. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA (where applicable), FSMA Preventive Controls, customer requirements, and internal quality systems while protecting product integrity throughout receiving, storage (including temperature-controlled and cave environments where applicable), inventory management, and shipping.
This position partners cross-functionally with Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control, Procurement, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Coffee Teams to proactively identify and mitigate food safety and quality risks. The role serves as the primary quality authority within warehouse operations and drives continuous improvement in traceability, product handling, regulatory compliance, and operational controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse Quality & Compliance Oversight
1. Lead daily warehouse QA activities to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA (if applicable), FSMA, and customer-specific requirements.
2. Oversee receiving inspections, product condition verification, lot code validation, documentation review, and compliance verification.
3. Manage hold and release programs for inbound and outbound product, ensuring proper segregation and documentation.
4. Administer non-conforming product processes, including investigation, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and documentation.
5. Ensure effective temperature monitoring, allergen controls, sanitation verification, pest control documentation, and GMP enforcement.
6. Conduct routine internal audits of warehouse operations, storage conditions, inventory rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and documentation accuracy.
7. Maintain compliance with federal warehouse and distribution program requirements, including USDA-regulated product handling where applicable.
Food Safety & Preventive Controls
8. Support and verify warehouse-related Preventive Controls programs in alignment with FSMA requirements.
9. Maintain warehouse food defense and food fraud mitigation programs, including vulnerability awareness and monitoring of high-risk materials.
10. Oversee environmental monitoring activities (if applicable), including sampling, trending, corrective actions, and documentation.
Recall & Traceability
11. Maintain recall and traceability systems capable of meeting regulatory and customer requirements, including completion of mock recalls within required timeframes.
12. Ensure accurate lot tracking and documentation integrity throughout warehouse operations.
Customer & Audit Support
13. Investigate customer complaints related to warehouse handling, storage, labeling, or shipping accuracy.
14. Lead warehouse participation in third-party audits (SQF, customer audits, regulatory inspections) and support timely closure of audit findings.
15. Maintain warehouse quality records in accordance with regulatory and audit standards.
Training & Leadership
16. Train warehouse personnel on GMPs, food safety standards, sanitation practices, documentation requirements, and quality procedures.
17. Provide functional leadership and oversight to QA Technicians or Inspectors (if assigned), including training and performance coaching.
18. Influence operational teams to maintain compliance standards without direct authority.
Continuous Improvement & KPI Management
19. Develop, monitor, and report warehouse quality KPIs (damage rates, shrink, audit findings, incidents) to leadership.
20. Identify and implement risk-reduction and process improvement initiatives to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· May provide direct supervision to QA Technicians or Inspectors (if assigned).
· Responsible for training, coaching, and functional oversight of warehouse quality activities.
· Provides quality leadership within warehouse operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
· 3–5 years of quality assurance experience in food distribution, manufacturing, or 3PL environment
· Supervisory or lead experience preferred
· HACCP certification required
· PCQI certification strongly preferred
· SQF Practitioner experience a plus
Required Licenses or Certifications
· Relevant food safety certifications are preferred.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
· Work is routinely performed in a production/manufacturing/warehouse environment.
· Monday through Friday 8am until 5pm
· Occasional abnormal hours are expected and required during peak times or to meet production needs.
TRAVEL
· Minimal local travel between company facilities may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires exposure to warehouse and storage environments, including temperature fluctuations, high-humidity cave storage, moving equipment, and confined storage areas.
Incumbents may be required to exert:
• Up to 20 pounds of force frequently
• Up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance
