JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Project Geotechnical Engineer at Certerra, you will be responsible for managing small projects as well as managing discrete tasks within larger projects. In this role, you will be expected to:
Scoping geotechnical investigations and preparing draft proposals and cost estimates;
Managing and conducting field investigations; reviewing samples/core; ordering laboratory tests and preparing/reviewing/editing boring logs for investigations of any scale;
Working directly with and managing sub-consultants;
Performing and/or supervising engineering analyses;
Preparing geotechnical investigation and geologic hazard reports;
Reviewing plans and specifications for conformance with the intent of A3GEO’s geotechnical recommendations;
Assisting in the managing, training, mentoring and supervision of staff-level engineers;
Managing construction-phase services for projects; and
Conducting onsite construction observation for engineering-related activities, if needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Certerra is seeking a well-rounded Professional Engineer, with experience on a variety of project types. The following minimum requirements apply to this position.
U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Master of Science (MS) in Geotechnical Engineering.
California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
At least 5 years of relevant geotechnical experience.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
