Base pay range $27.05/hr - $30.43/hr General Job Summary Under the direction of the Manager, Procurement Services, or approved designee, and in accordance with all procedures and policies, the Procurement Specialist 1 performs organ back table functions for local procurements, renal pulsatile perfusion, recovery of anatomical gifts for research, and biopsies as needed. The individual must work in accordance with local, state, and industry standards to ensure safety and quality of materials and organs/tissues. Position requires availability on days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Education and Experience College coursework in Biology or similar preferred. One year of healthcare experience in a clinical setting, with some knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy. Required Skills and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy. Problem-solving skills and ability to manage deadlines. Valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and insurability under Infinite Legacys policy. Attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively, especially during high-stress situations. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Physical ability to lift objects over 50 pounds and to function for extended hours, including up to 24 hours and on-call rotations. Willingness to travel within the donor service area. Responsibilities Participate in rotating shifts covering 24/7/365 schedule. Support organ recovery processes, maintaining sterility, following UNOS guidelines, and assisting with biopsies. Assist with post-mortem care and collaborate with team members and external partners. Train new staff as needed and participate in research and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with documentation and SOPs. Working Conditions Potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials following safety protocols. Travel and extended hours required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical activity including lifting, pushing, and pulling, with proper body mechanics. High exposure to bloodborne pathogens and TB; adherence to safety standards is mandatory.
