Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients, engage in patient and family education, advocate for patient needs, and collaborate effectively with ancillary and non-nursing departments. Reports to: Department Director FLSA: Non-exempt Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. License: Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of AR. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Required Skills: Strong ability to understand, communicate with, and respond effectively to the needs of patients and their families. Critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on patient care. Essential Functions: Conduct assessments of patients' conditions and nursing care requirements. Set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions tailored to the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of patients. Develop individualized nursing care plans that guide patient care. Implement care plans and adapt as necessary based on patient needs. Evaluate patient care outcomes to ensure effective treatment. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately. Provide clear communication to patients and oversee the provision of quality care. Educate patients and their families on relevant health conditions and self-care. Document nursing observations, assessments, and care delivered accurately and thoroughly. Nonessential Functions: Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment. Assist in the orientation and training of new employees. Coordinate and supervise employee activities and departmental operations as needed. Participate in initiatives aimed at performance and process improvement.
