ABOUT THE ROLEThis position will be mainly performing cement physical testing. It will also include the ability for all cement lab testing. To obtain and monitor, by chemical and physical tests, representative samples from Production Department of raw materials, feed, clinker and cement, and advise them of adjustments to insure a quality product with a minimum of variations.WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISHEnsure by proper test that all cement leaving the plant meets specifications.Perform complete ASTM chemical and physical test on daily composite samples to insure product meets strict plant standards.Perform periodic calibration and preventive maintenance checks on all equipment and maintain chemical solutions.Evaluate data and inform Production, Quality Coordinator and Quality Manager when running outside of parameters.Run proficiency samples against other labs.Record accurately and timely, data for use by management and other departmentsTrain and direct material handlers on regular or specialized sampling or take samples when necessary. Train new employees to understand cement specification and be quality conscious.Monitor raw mix, clinker and cement production with X-ray, wet or physical analyses and oversee adjustments to proportions, admixtures, fineness, air content, and initiate corrective actions and assist in solving any problems.Provide relief for other Lab team members (includes shift coverage, equipment maintenance, and occasional required overtime).Examine raw materials in regard to variations or potential use.Explain procedures or results to non-lab personnelDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.Other responsibilities as assigned.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOREducation:Associate's Degree or High School diploma and 1-3 years experienceRequired Work Experience:1-3 years in industrial labRequired Technical Skills:Basic Knowledge about computers and Microsoft programs, SAP preferred.Additional Requirements:Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
