Salary From: $136K- $200K (DEPENDS UPON EXPERIENCE)
Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication use across the healthcare setting. This role involves interpreting prescriptions, verifying medication orders, preparing and dispensing medications, and providing drug-related information to healthcare providers and patients. The Pharmacist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify physician orders and prescriptions for accuracy. Dispense medications according to established procedures. Monitor patient medication therapies and provide drug information to medical staff. Counsel patients on appropriate use of prescribed drugs. Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure proper documentation of controlled substances. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety efforts. Education, Licensure, and Experience: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy. Active and unrestricted state pharmacist license. Minimum of 1-2 years of hospital or clinical pharmacy experience preferred (new grads considered). BLS/CPR certification (required or willing to obtain). Strong knowledge of drug interactions, dosing, and clinical pharmacology.
