Job Summary The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our nursing team in the Goldman Clinic. This flexible role is ideal for nurses interested in behavioral health, psychiatry, and substance abuse treatment. The LPN will provide direct care to patients, ensure safety on the unit, and support recovery efforts as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in a behavioral health and substance abuse treatment setting
Administer medications and monitor patient responses
Accurately document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Assist in crisis intervention and use de-escalation techniques when needed
Supervise Mental Health Workers and support overall unit operations
Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment according to hospital policies
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Current LPN license in Pennsylvania (Required)
1+ year of LPN experience preferred
Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or substance abuse treatment preferred
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis is a plus
Current CPR certification (Required)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred
Strong clinical observation, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to remain calm, dependable, and team-oriented in high-pressure situations
Proficiency with EHR systems and behavioral health protocols
Orientation Requirement Must be available to complete a mandatory 5-day orientation prior to starting work.
