The Outpatient Physician plays a vital role in evaluating and treating clients facing psychiatric and substance use disorders. By providing direct professional services, you will help diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of mental health issues. This position emphasizes ongoing medication management for your assigned clients and will involve collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including Advanced Practice Nurses and other healthcare professionals. Your Responsibilities: As an MD/DO in this role, you will work within an outpatient community mental health center, providing client-centered care addressing mental health, substance use, and physical health needs. You will: Conduct evaluations for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Diagnose conditions and determine the appropriate treatment course. Prescribe medication as needed. Keep detailed documentation in line with SummitStone’s quality assurance and clinical standards. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of medical and therapeutic services. Participate in meetings and comply with all relevant mental health care laws and regulations. Maintain medical staff privileges as required and participate in an on-call coverage schedule. Education and Experience: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Experience working with marginalized communities and individuals experiencing vulnerabilities. Knowledge and dedication to Medications for Addiction Treatment and harm reduction principles. Licenses and Certifications: DEA Certification. Valid medical license in the State of Colorado. Current Colorado driver’s license or ability to get one within 30 days and a clean driving record.
