Job Details
We are currently seeking an Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join our dynamic legal team.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience drafting title opinions in West Texas and/or southeastern New Mexico (Permian Basin).
Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of oil and gas matters, including exploration, production, transportation, and sales. Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or other issues that could impact ownership or use of the property. Analyze documents such as leases, contracts, and deeds. Advise on compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation and arbitration. Collaborate with other departments to identify legal risks and develop risk management strategies. Stay up-to-date with developments in oil and gas law and industry trends. Provide training to other departments on relevant legal issues.
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in at least one state. 3+ of experience with oil and gas law. Experience drafting title opinions covering lands in the Permian Basin. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
