OFFICE ASSOCIATE II

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an individual to work under general supervision and perform standard clerical and administrative duties. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the secretarial function, usually gained through formal secretarial education or secretarial experience. It involves coordinating department activities, maintaining faculty calendars, scheduling meetings and notifying attendees of any changes, maintaining leave files, processing reimbursements, maintaining compliance, such as licensing and professional memberships, and composing letters.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Makes travel arrangements and reservations.
Assists with special projects.
Drafts and types correspondence.
May handle confidential information, dictation and transcription.
Coordinates faculty calendars and schedules; arranges meetings and conferences, notifies attendees of any changes.
Prepare and process Oracle requisitions and processing reimbursements.
Organize, track and maintain compliance with licensing and required staff education for faculty psychiatrists.
Maintain accurate leave files for faculty and clinical staff and to coordinate with Campus Time& Attendance system.
Compose, type and distribute correspondence and similar documents according to general instructions.
Attend various departmental meetings and take minutes of meeting.
Monitor and schedule department conference room and equipment.
Order and distribute supplies and equipment for the department.
Perform other duties as assigned

Hourly Range: $ 15.00 -$24.40
Qualifications
Education
High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related experience required.
