Northrop Grumman Space Systems Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an excellent opportunity for a Network Communications Network Monitoring Analyst to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. Please note that relocation assistance is not available, and this role requires on-site presence with no remote options. Position Overview The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve mission objectives. C2BMC offers layered missile defense capabilities and functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing sensors and weapons both globally and locally. The selected candidate will be part of a team reporting to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO), performing daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC network systems in a 24/7 environment. Essential Functions Provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC network hardware and software. Document and report all events and issues to the CWO, and receive tasks and directions from the CCC for operations, tests, and real-world events. Assist with network hardware and software installations as directed by SMEs and create/maintain user accounts as directed by the ISSO. Perform additional duties as needed and work collaboratively in a team environment. Basic Qualifications Updated security clearance and relevant certifications on resume, if applicable. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field from an accredited university, with 2 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 0 years of experience; or 6 years of relevant experience as an alternative to a degree. Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance required to start; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, CISSP, etc.) required to start. Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 environment, including nights and weekends. Strong understanding of network concepts: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, network management and monitoring tools, virtualization technologies like VMware, remote access software such as SSH, RDP, FTP, SCP, and troubleshooting experience with OSPF, Cisco IOS, JUNOS. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with encryption devices like TACLANEs. Basic Linux/Unix server maintenance knowledge. Experience coordinating with other DoD agencies and network operations organizations.
