About the job WAND TV is the market leading television station in central Illinois and we are looking for a full-time Anchor/Reporter to join our Wake Up team Monday through Friday.

This person would take ownership of newscasts as well as bring unique story ideas to the table and recognize the importance of using social media to tell stories, break news and connect with our community.

The candidate must demonstrate they will be effective in “new, now, and next” news judgement.

What you’ll be doing Take ownership of newscasts Deliver news stories in a compelling manner to our audience Interact with other team members on-air Bring unique story ideas to daily news meetings Use social media to tell stories, break news, and connect with the community Assist producers with building newscasts, and fill-in producer as needed Build contacts and sources in the community Work with reporters, photographers, and editors to tell stories, share ideas, and enhance teamwork Report on community events, stories, investigations, etc.

Education Requirement : College graduate with a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or related broadcast news field

Preferred Experience : 1 to 2 years prior anchoring experience or 2 to 3 years prior reporting experience. This is not an entry level position.

Computer skills preferred : ENPS, Adobe Premier, Microsoft Office, Various social media platforms, BitCentral
