Description

Set-up and operate CNC mills.

Essential Job Functions: Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate machinery in secondary department including mills, honing, and lapping machines as a plus. Ability to assemble parts as needed Verify part quantity with the job traveler Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications Study and determine the part tolerances and methods of measurement for each job Deburr parts when necessary Ability to run more than one machine while maintaining run times and quality as required Use micrometers, height gages, optical comparators and visual checks for part inspection Maintain a clean and organized department and work area Communicate with coworkers and supervisor as needed Determine when cutters needs replacement or resharpening Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs Interpret blue prints Complete all necessary paperwork as required in a timely & accurate manner Continually analyze and improve machining process to improve efficiency and quality Machine programming Inspection sheet creation Prep for future jobs Update process prints Update inventory for tools and fixturing Non-Essential Job Functions: Train others as needed Work on miscellaneous projects as needed Benefits: Medical, Dental, Prescription, Eye Holiday shut-down Paid vacation and paid personal time Life insurance, 401K Education opportunities Environmental Conditions: Noise intensity level exposed with this job Loud Exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, and gases Occasionally Exposure to hazard of moving mechanical parts Occasionally Qualifications Minimum of five years on CNC machines at least two years on mills Ability to think critically and ask questions of others in order to foster continuous learning efforts Ability to use micrometers, indicators, and precision gages Attention to detail Sense of urgency Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to develop alternative solutions when needed Ability to multi-task Ability to adhere to 6S and lean standards Ability to stand and walk for up to 5 hours at a time Ability to occasionally lift boxes up to 40lbs and regularly lift boxes up to 20lbs Knowledge of all departmental machine capabilities Basic general inspection equipment knowledge and skills Basic materials knowledge Communication skills to train others as needed Basic math & geometry skills (Math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) Work in a safe manner in execution of all duties Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry 20-50 pounds (upward pulling) Lift/carry Occasionally Stooping Occasionally (bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles) Reaching Frequently (extending hands and arms in any direction including upward and downward) Walking Occasionally (with normal breaks) Sitting Occasionally (with normal breaks) Standing Frequently (with normal breaks)
